How do I use the Archives?

Answer

Email archives@uwstout.edu with research questions. In most cases, our staff can email you the information you need and answer your questions without an appointment.

Research Appointments

Available in the Archives Tuesday-Thursday each week. Contact the Archives in advance to schedule and confirm your appointment.

What does the Archives have?

  • All things Stout: institutional records of UW-Stout and its predecessors
  • Stout created work: creative projects, research, theses, dissertations, and more
  • All things local: data, newspapers, images, and more
  • Real world examples: surveys, data sets, research, and more

What can an Archivist help me with?

  • Locating grey literature, institutional, and local records
  • Researching with local or institutional records that are not peer reviewed or traditionally published
  • Citations for grey literature, institutional, and local records
  • Organizing your research and data management best practices
  • Making your research and projects accessible long-term online

You can view UW-Stout Archives Digital Collections on the UW-Stout Archives website. You do not need to use a log in or Stout ID to access these collections. This only represents a small amount of the records in the UW-Stout Archives. Contact archives@uwstout.edu for more information on records that are not in the Digital Collections or for other questions.
