How do I use the Archives?

Email archives@uwstout.edu with research questions. In most cases, our staff can email you the information you need and answer your questions without an appointment.

What does the Archives have?
- All things Stout: institutional records of UW-Stout and its predecessors
- Stout created work: creative projects, research, theses, dissertations, and more
- All things local: data, newspapers, images, and more
- Real world examples: surveys, data sets, research, and more
What can an Archivist help me with?
- Locating grey literature, institutional, and local records
- Researching with local or institutional records that are not peer reviewed or traditionally published
- Citations for grey literature, institutional, and local records
- Organizing your research and data management best practices
- Making your research and projects accessible long-term online
You can view UW-Stout Archives Digital Collections on the UW-Stout Archives website. You do not need to use a log in or Stout ID to access these collections. This only represents a small amount of the records in the UW-Stout Archives. Contact archives@uwstout.edu for more information on records that are not in the Digital Collections or for other questions.
